The governors of the People’s Democratic Party, under the auspices of the PDP Governors’ Forum, have declared that the presidential election dispute is now over with the Supreme Court’s judgement on the election of President Bola Tinubu.
The PDP Governors Forum stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday following a meeting held under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State in Abuja.
According to the Forum, Thursday’s ruling by the Supreme Court confirming President Tinubu’s election has brought an end to the presidential election cycle.
The governors of the main opposition party said that with the apex court’s verdict, there was a need to end the litigation.
The governors said they believed and reaffirmed their faith and trust in the judiciary to deliver justice in political cases and other cases brought before the courts. They, however, expressed concern over the disqualification of PDP candidates in Plateau State based on pre-election issues, in which they noted that the Supreme Court had set a precedent.
