The district head of Kanya, under the Danko/Wasagu Local Government area of Kebbi State, Isah Daya, had on Saturday been abducted by some unknown gunmen.
One person was killed, eight people kidnapped while three people were injured.
Nafui Abubakar, the Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this while giving the deceased name as Sheriff Alhaji Almu.
He made known that combined security team led by the police force have begin tracking operation on the abductors in search to rescue the monarch, also noted that the Kebbi State Government has provided the needed logistics to tame banditry in the affected towns, particularly Kebbi South, Zuru Emirate.
This attack came few days following the killing of an APC Chairman in the Suru Local Government Area of the state.
