The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), had on Thursday shut down the operation of 4 U supermarket located at Wuse 2 in Abuja, for unpleasant practices, hiding of information and selling of inferior bags of rice.
The Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC, Adamu Abdullahi, described the sealing off the supermarket as unacceptable.
The FCCPC officials had on Thursday present at numerous supermarkets in Abuja to initiate a campaign to enforce price display and quantity compliance.
The initiative was as a result of response to concerns raised by some consumers about the rising in cost of goods which is against the recent strengthening of the naira against major currencies.
