A group of unknown gunmen which were suspected to be bandits, has been confirmed by the Zamfara State Police Command of attacking the Zurmi division at Nasarawa Area of Zurmi Local Government Area.
It was reported that the policemen who were on duty confronted the bandits and attack them following a serious gun shots which got many of the bandits killed while others abscorned with gunshot wounds.
ASP Yazeed Abubakar, who is the Spokesman for the Command, had
in a statement issued by the Command said the Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Shitu Musa paid the supreme prize as he died on the spot, while two other police officers suffered gunshot wounds.
“While the bandits were retreating, they burnt down some houses and shops in the same area.
“Therefore, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara Command, MD Shehu Dalijan has deployed adequate manpower to the area while reassuring all people of the state that the command under his leadership will continue to do its best in protecting lives and properties,” he added.
