President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has congratulated the Ivorian on their winning over the Super Eagles of Nigeria, as the Super Eagles lost 1-2 to the Ivory Coast team.
Bayo Onanuga, who is the President’s spokesman, said the Ivorian team equalled Nigeria as three time winners of AFCON.
This was posted on the X social media handle where Onanuga also congratulated the Super Eagles for taking the second position.
Onanuga wrote : “Congratulations Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire for being TotalEnergiesAFCON2023 champions, equaling Nigeria as three time winners.
“Congratulations the Super Eagles of Nigeria for picking the silver. There will always be another time for victory song. Today was not just the Super Eagles day.”
