Nigerian Police Sign MOU with US Government to Strengthen National Security

The Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D, NPM has signed a Memoradum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States Government’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) regarding the operationalization of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS)

In a press release signed by the Force Public Relation Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi mnipr mipra fCAI on Monday 18th December 2023, the IGP reiterates that a joint initiative would strengthen the capability of the Police Force in addressing national security challenges.

In his words, “Proactive policing strategies and community engagement initiatives are attributed to noticeable crime reduction on strategic locations in the country”

“With the effort of our operatives, we have rescued 134 kidnap victims, arrested 375 suspected kidnappers, 578 armed robbery suspects, 431 rape suspects, recover 419 firearms and 4,235 ammunition calibre among other notable cases”

“By partnering with international organisation, the Nigeria Police Force can better ensure overall safety and security of the nation while upholding standard professionalism in service delivery” he added.

IGP Egbetokun also urge all strategic police managers to commit themselves to the culture of discipline and professionalism driven by passion for economic prosperity and development of our country.
